Default High pitched whine

I have been noticing a high pitched whine coming from the dash when the blower fan is set to low. It is most noticeable when the fan has been on the low setting for a period of time (10 or so minutes and longer). Unfortunately, it is not clear cut reproducible. It seems to occur about 90% of the time.

The high pitch whine is noticeable even with the stereo on a low setting. If you move the fan up to med or high, the high pitched whine seems to go away. I cannot tell whether the noise is lost in the fan noise, or if increasing the revs of the fan stop the noise.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I am starting to think it might be a bearing issue with the fan.
