Interior & ExteriorDiscussions about the interior, and exterior of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "My best/easiest wax job yet", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I like a good looking truck, but don't like working at it...well, a bit, but not a lot.
The wax job I just gave the family fleet is the best & easiest I've done yet.
1) Wash & dry
2) Clay bar
3) "Black Again" on vinyl and flat black
3) Dark color???---polish, Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze or similar
4) Wax---Meguiar's NXT liquid Tech Wax
5) 303 Protectant on the inside vinyl and Roll-n-Lock vinyl cover.
6) Genuine mud on the tires.
I clay barred the plastic headlight lenses using 303 protectant as the lube...they look great. I tried the #7 glaze on a small part of my Thunder Gray Tundra, but couldn't see any difference. The NXT Tech Wax contains some polish, anyway. My metallic dark red Volvo looks really good with the #7 under the NXT.
And, as little work for the shine as I've ever done. My last NXT waxing lasted almost a year.
Ken

Ken,
I'm with you on the work part, but it is also relaxing to detail my truck, and wifes car. I just don't want to do it every couple of weeks. Last year I did the #7 and #26 on my thunder gray and guys @ work were asking me if it was a custom paint job(makes U feel good). This year I used clay,#80, #21 sealtant(new) and then I topped it with #26 in about two days (optional) I did this in early April and still shine like new, I only wash and detail spray (last touch) when I have a chance to wash spring rain can't do every week. try it.
