Default Hi Lift Mount in 2005 Composite Bed

Has anyone mounted a hi-lift loc-rac and jack in the composite bed and then thrashed around any. I have tried to get Toyota and bed manufacturer to tell me whether it is ok and neither would tell me.

If you make up some backing plates like those used to mount the front D-rings I can't image that you'd have any trouble. I'd make a much bigger mounting bracket for the jack base - I don't care for that dinky little mounting plate the loc-rac has.

Thanks. I have seen Demello racks and will see if they have one that still allows tonneau cover.

If not, I will try the backing plate idea.

yeah I dont think it would work with a tonneau cover. but i'm sure with some creative thinking you could have someone custom fab a place to put a hi-lift jack.

Went to Demello's web page. I think they have one without the light attachments that is flat. Got to call them to make sure it will work. Thanks for the suggestions.
