Default Arm Rests

I have a 2001 Limited access cab with captain's seats. I love the truck, but I hate the driver's arm rest--too short and narrow. When I rest my right hand on the wheel the end of the arm rest catches me just below the elbow, which is remarkably uncomfortable. Does anyone else share this perception? Did later models have larger/longer arm rests? Anybody done any kind of retrofit to improve the arm rest comfort?

Thanks for any thoughts you might offer.

I never use the arm rests in my 2000. theyre pretty worthless IMO. The console could have been higher and I could use that but oh well. I live with it.

The center console in starting in '03 is higher. I rest my arm cradled between the armrest and the console. The armrest by itself is not that comfortable.

I agree, too short and narrow. A speaker company by the name of JL Audio makes a subwoofer that mounts under the center console. They make a airtight fiberglass and then upohlstered riser that sits underneather the console. It raises the console up to where you use that to put your arm and you're also able to have a subwoofer in your cab w/o sacrafising the rear seats. JL makes the best Subwoofers PERIOD!!!

Just an option for ya....
