This is a discussion thread titled "a/c heater noise again", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Question has anybody in this forum experienced a noise in the a/c /heater blower unit ..Since new I have taken my truck in 3 times on repair's and the noise just comes and goes and I got taken advange of from one Toyota dealership that did nothing on repairing it and got my money back after they lied..The noise is very aparant during the morning hour's and it's like a high pitched noise coming from the blower unit which i can't seem to pinpoint ..The last time the dealership looked at this problem I was informed my truck has stuff in the air intack (leaves and crap) and was changed for this repair which didnt make any since because where I live I dont have any trees near the area much less i dont park under trees at work (parking garage and covered) . I might have a dead possum in my ac or better yet a snake who know's anyway's just wanted to ask if anybody else has any similar issues on there tundra and what might be the problem. The service advisor told me not to kept papers in my glove box like this is the problem hello that's what a glove box is for too store insurance paper work (service morons what do they know )

Yep, I had that problem with my old 2001 AC. It was a very high pitched squeal and occured mostly on the 2nd and 3rd fan speeds. When it first started I thought it was feedback coming through the audio system somehow. Very annoying and loud!! It started about a week before I tired to sell the truck. I pounded on the blower a little bit and it didn't make any difference, but the problem was very intermittant and took about 10 minutes of the fan running befroe the squeal would start. I just assumed there was either something in the blower or a bearing in the fan motor going bad. I didn't bother fixing it, and the guy who bought the truck didn't say anything about it.
There used to be a thread about this a while back. If I remember right, it's the fan behind the center right vent. I believe that the thread had a fix on how to do it. Just can't remember where it was, but you can easily fix it without doing any replacements to it.

if you can find that please let me know...I am taking it apart this weekend but I too seem to think it's a bearing going bad done this since I received my tundra brand new and on my complain list along with the brakes ..

This has been going on for five years???
The blower motor is right above the passenger's feet, below & behind the glove box. There are three or four screws and one electrical plug. The squirrel cage then just drops down out of the housing.
Pull it out and look for leaves, snakes or whatever and out it back together. Should only take a few minutes.
