Interior & ExteriorDiscussions about the interior, and exterior of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Fix-it Ticket for Clear Corners? Just asking...", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Okay, first off I'm paranoid about being pulled over for anything. If, for anything, it would likely be for speeding (or getting caught giving someone the bird who deserved it). Well, since I suspect that having clear corners on our trucks could be illegal (insufficient level of orange tint or indication, whatever) I've removed mine from my truck with the intention of giving them "eyebrows" (on top part of light) using bright orange model paint with a clear coat to make them more "legal" looking. Has anyone else done this, or have you been pulled over to be given a fix-it ticket for having them on? Here in Tucson I know I'm not likely going to be pulled over (Police kind of lazy, shiftless, and in most experiences EXTREMELY rude and borderline A-holes) but I occaisonally drive out the area or out of state and don't want to bother with having to take them off and putting the original ones back on.
So long as you have amber bulbs behind the clear corners, you should be just fine. Their function still works the same and they seem to be just as bright amber as the stock amber corners. I wouldnt' give it a second thought.

In know in CA they are legal. It is even legal to have white bulbs in your clear corners. You can have clear or amber up front and read and amber facing the back. I'm not sure about AZ but I wouldn't sweat it.
My brother is in AZ (phoenix) and has white bulbs behind his clear corners and super dark tint all around on his Tundra and he hasn't been bothered.
I think that driving a truck or SUV makes you stand out less to the police. It just seems that way. My friend never had any tickets in his truck, but he had a Mustang and 350 before and after the truck and he constantly gets tickets with those vehicles.
