This is a discussion thread titled "Trenz Billet Grille", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I've decided to finally get my Trenz Billet Grille for my Tundra, since i like the way they look on all the others. However, i was wondering if there was a truck shop in Southern CA, primarily around Orange County, where i can purchase this grille from and have it installed as well. Or possibly, if there are any other aftermarker grilles out there for the Tundras, i would love to know. Let me know. Thanks!
The T-Rex grill is sold by a shop in Orange. This is the only billet grill with a bumper fill. They quoted me an aditional $125 for install. If you are not handy or you are concerned about cutting up your factory grill then their offer is a good one. The T-Rex grill has more horizontal bars and thus some here think it looks like a auto grill. Oh well, can't please everyone. Check my photos to see the T-Rex grill.
Thanks for the quick reply! The T Rex grille looks great on your truck. I was wondering the exact location in Orange where you purchashed it and what i am looking for in price. Thanks for the help. I am still not 100% sure which grille i like more.. the T Rex or Trenz.... possibly another if there are more out there for the Tundra. Thanks!
You should check out all the grills in the My Photo section snd select the grill you like the best.
I got the grill insert and the bumper fill grill both with tax over the counter for $285. This required me to do the cutting of my stock grill to make room for the insert. As I stated before they offered to do this for $125. The bumper insert uses the license plate bracket holes and hooks up in about 10 minutes including time to get out your tools and put them away.
Check out their web page, it is not very good and they do not list the tundra but they do have it. Their store is better with lots of stuff on display, worth the trip over if you are in Orange County.
If you purchase the Trenz and want the bumper fill grill part I think the T-Rex bumper fill would look good with the other billet grills. The horizontal bar spacing is slightly farther apart than their main grill insert so it should match up just right with the Trenz or the others.
Have you had any problems with the grille? I will probably have them install mine, since im not too handy with that kind of stuff. Do you know any other places that may offer the T-REX for a cheaper price?? Let me know. THANKS!
Those people advertise in the ads in the back of Truckin magazine. I found another seller of the T-Rex on the net by doing a search and found them to be much higher and then there was shipping. Sales tax is cheaper than some peoples shipping and handling charges.
You can purchase the grill already complete for a bolt on swap out and then you still have your original grill complete. As I remember it the grill complete was about 300 and that did not include the bumper fill.
I have not had one problem and love the grill. I read here in another thread awhile back that someone had a T-Rex that the black paint was pealing. I do not have that problem. Go over and take a look and talk to them. I found the guys to be helpful and talkative.
OH, by the way, when you get a new grill photograph your truck and post the pictures in the Billet Grill mods section.
I am actually really undecided which grille to get.. either the T- REx or Trenz. I found a great place that installs Trenz for $260 total, but again, that doesnt include the bumper fill. The T-Rex grille installed with the bumper fill is $460 total. I might consider just getting the Trenz and then going for the T-REx bumper fill in to save some money. I guess it all comes down to whichever last the longest and is most durable. I will post pictures when i have this complete since my clear corners are already installed.
THANKS
WHOOOO!!! Purchased my T-Rex billet Grille with installation today at JBM in Orange, CA. I paid a total of $400 including installation and taxes for the grille and bumper fill in. LOOKS GREAT! I'm so glad i went with this grille. No problems with it so far. No humming or anything. I will post pictures very very soon. The grille looks very impressive blending in well with my clear corners and Silver Metalic truck. GO WITH THE T-REX.
Glad to see you like it, me too. Post those pictures, I want to see.
As it worked out you only paid $115 more than I did and you got the install. Not a bad price for all the work incolved in cutting out the stock grill to fit the insert. Did they use your stock grill or did you get it back? If you got it back then when you sell your truck you can pull the grill, install stock and sell the complete grill and insert on ebay and make a buck.
HEy, i did not get the original grill back. Im not too concerned about that. HOwever, i wanted to ask you .. HOW did you take off your front license plate holders? I was able to take off the license plate itself with the frame, but there are still the 2 holders somehow attached to the bumper. Let me know. Thanks. Pics will be up soon.

Open the hood and look down at the bumper, you will see the two brackets and the screws that holde them. Remove the screws and the new bumper fill attaches in the same holes. You are provided two screws and two shetmetal nuts. As I recall I placed the grill piece in and working from the top with the hood open I reached down and attached screws and nuts. Have a look you will see what I am talking about. By the way, you no longer can attach the license plate as it was, I am running without one. Someday I expect to get a fixit ticket for it and will figure out what to do then.
could you tell me the price of the trenz grill without the bumper insert and also if the installation cost wold still be $125 without the insert. By the way your grill looks good!!!
Oooweee,
I just bought my T-Rex grill only from the place these guys are talking about, JBM in Orange this weekend. Paid 145.00 + tax. The insert would be another 110.00 +. Installed it yesterday, looks sweet!
