Default Snugtop - Remove the Boot?

I have a Snugtop Supersport for my '05 DC. The rubber gasket, also called the "boot", rubs against the cab. Has anyone removed the boot and installed the window on the Snugtop? It's a hefty investment to make, on top of the already incurred shell cost, so I want to avoid paying for something I regret. Will it:

a. Decrease the rubbing noise of the shell?
b. Increase, decrease, or make no difference in wind noise?
c. Look stupid? (Yeah, I am a bit pathetic, but I don't want to look the way that I am!)

Any thoughts, suggestions, or comments?

Anyone? If I'm the first, I guess I'll have to bite the bullet & go for it. I'll let "you" know, if "you" care. Hasn't anyone done this?

I also have a Supersport on my 05 Tundra DC. I didn't get the boot. I opted for the window that has has a slider and also folds down. As you are finding out, the boot will rub the paint off the cab. I have had no problems.
