This is a discussion thread titled "Installing Overhead Info Console", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
That info may be a huge help - I'll look into this later in the week. I'm hoping it helps to narrow down the 7 P/Ns to a more reasonable number for the harness in the pillar. Hell, of it came down to two $25ish harnesses I'd get tham both and eat the loss on the wrong one just to get this little project finished and a working solution for the group.
Thanks a bunch.

I have an 04 sequoia that did not come with an info center, I took the overhead console down and the part number for the roof wire for no info center is 82171-0C 061 so you can cross that one off your list . It only has a plug for the map lights. I'm doing the same thing I bought a overhead console on ebay from a 06 Sienna. I'm going to take the info center out of it and attempt to install in my Sequoia I will keep you all posted of my findings and of course will be watching your posts for information as well.
Thanks R.

I learned the hard way that the info center from the Sienna is a different size than the one in the Sequoia/Tundra. I couldn't get the Sienna one to fit in my overhead console.
I have one of the wire harnesses on order from the local dealer and will post once everything gets here and is installed.
The one from the Sienna was just a little bit too big to fit into the Tundra opening. A steady hand with a Dremel could probably make the hole big enough to fit but I'm not sure about the angles of the glass matching the angle on the console itself...
Why Toyota would take on the costs of two different meters when the consoles themselves are virtually identical between the Sienna and the Tundra/Sequoia is beyond me.
I ended up putting the Sienna one in my dad's Sienna when they were over this weekend and pulling a Sequoia one from a junkyard for the Tundra. With any luck the harness will be at the dealer by Friday.
Well I was able to find the other end of the wiring harness for the overhead console. It plugs into the back of the fuse box. If you are looking at the fuse box it plugs in the top left corner. Since it is in the back it is hard to get to, but I was able to do it.
Now I just need to buy the correct wire from Toyota and we'll be in business.
I'm pretty sure that it's NOT part number 82171-0C070 (Sequoia SR5 w/ Accessory Meter). That's the one that I ordered and the end plugs are rectangluar instead of the the square that, at least at the console end, is needed.
That's strange. I remember my plugs being rectangular. I'll have to double check after work today. Are you returning the one you bought, or selling it?
My Sequoia has a rectangular plug in the overhead that connects to the lights right now,but most of the info centers I've seen have a square plug coming out of them. I think there must be a wire we are missing, that the rectangular connects to the square plug in the info center. Maybe if someone that has a Sequoia with the info center could tell us how the roof wire connects to the info center.

My Tundra had a rectangular roof wire plugging into the lights. When I installed the new console with the meter the roof wire plugged right into it. Unfortunately the roof wire only has 2 wires and the console about 8-10.
This is strange, I have an 05 Tundra limited that came without the temp/compass/homelink overhead console, so I bought one (used) with all that stuff out of an 06 seq. It plugged in just fine, but the compass was way out, so I just started messing around with it and pretty soon the compass started working fine, then, because of what I had heard, I never really worried about the outside temp as I thought it was going to be a mess to wire in, so I just looked at the dashes for awhile, then finally today I decided to order the ambient temp sensor and plug it in (dealer had it in stock) low and behold----it worked immediately---no wiring, no nothing, just plug and play??? Go figure? How did I luck out?
It sounds like 05ltd has the roof wire and part number we all need.
Is there any chance you could look at the sticker on the harness and let us know what the part number is? On the harnesses I've seen, the sticker is about six inches from the plug so it's likely under the headliner but towards the console end.
I ordered the parts today too. I've been planning to go to the dealer but never got around to it. Everything was easy and cheaper at toyotapartsales.com
I'll let you know how the install goes when everything is delivered.

I would be happy to, it only takes a couple of minutes----so I will do it Saturday and let you know.
