Question Rear Seat Removal

How difficult is it to remove the rear seat in my 2002 Tundra Access cab? Looks like a couple of bolts along the bottom edge need to be removed, but how is the top secured?

Just undo the 4 bolts on the bottom (with the seat bottoms lifted) and then lift the seat about 2 inches. The upper part just hooks into the backwall.

It's easier if you use two people (one on both sides of the cab) to lift the seat, but after the first time (and you see how it works), you can lift if up and remove it with one person. It's still just easier with two (even a 7 year old kid could help you, it's that light).

Thanks Alan,

I asked the salesman how to remove the seat and I got a blank stare. He finally said that nobody had asked that question before and asked why would I want to remove the seat? Heck, doesn't anyone use a truck as a hauler anymore?

Is it just as easy to reinstall? or does it take a little luck to get the top part hooked back on again?

It's about as hard to put back on as hanging up a shirt on a coat hanger. Once you get it off, you'll see.

It's a very simple design and easy to take off or put on. If I didn't mention it earlier though, that seat also acts as a sound baffle.

When you take the seat off, you'll notice a LOT more noise coming through the vents in the back wall.
