Interior & ExteriorDiscussions about the interior, and exterior of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "05 DC Rear Bumper ?'s on replacement", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
My 04 is in the shop right now for an incident with a pole. The bumper was $344, brackets $63.93 and with sheet metal repair & paint (kinda hit it hard) the total is $1321.47.
Now normally, I would have fixed it myself, but since I smashed up the box also, I best leave it in the capable hands of my local body shop. The supplier for the parts was:

All kinds of mods, but it will never replace my Tundra in my heart! By the way, this truck SUCKS compared to Toyota.
Check out my pics, I was rear ended by an F350, destroyed the rear bumper and mounts but did not mess up anything else. Total for a new stock 2005 bumper, new cross member with mounts, paint etc. $1800. I thought that was nuts, drove down to El Campo and had the guys at tough country replace the rear with their deluxe bumper, and did a front end replacement too all for almost exactly what the insurance check was for. checkout http://www.toughcountry.com/
I love the new rear bumper, have some beefy d rings now, and it's a much better step to get into the bed.
You guys are killing me with these quotes!! I "gently" tagged my rear bumper in a parking lot a month ago & am waiting for winter to pass for repair. Better save more than my pennies!! Even though I know I have no one to blame but myself for the damage, these bumpers, if you pardon the expression, $uk.
So how much did your Tough Country bumper run you when it was all said & done?
Those pics are nice!
(And you're right, the OEM bumpers are nothing but tin-foil).
I backed into a SMALL snow drift today & it tweaked my bumper.
That stupid OEM bumper must be made of tin foil! Stupid thing can't even hold up to a lousy snow drift! What's with that?!
Haven't even had the thing a week yet & the stupid snow already tweaked it!
It isn't bad & unless you know what you're looking for you wouldn't notice it, but...well...I do & I wanna get something tougher than that stupid POS excuse of a bumper they stuck on the back of my truck at the factory.
If something ever rear-ends me I want them to get the brunt of the damage...not my truck.
