This is a discussion thread titled "Rust Converter", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I have an 04 Tundra and I am noticing some rust forming on the rear axle, leaf springs, and some spots on the frame. Has anyone used rust converter in the spray can? I saw it it at an auto store made by Permatex. I was wondering if it really works or if there is another company that makes something better. I can wire brush most of it off but I want to try to eliminate it before topcoating with paint. Any advice?

I used Por-15 on the inside fender area and the outside of the front engine bay tub before I undercoated them on my Torino restoration. For the chassis I used Eastwood Chassis Black which is excellent also and can be purchased in aerosol cans. I sprayed some of the Eastwood on my Tundra chassis in the right rear wheel opening area to see how it would stay without sand blasting. This was two years ago and it didn't flake off and is still covering the area I sprayed in our salty winter road environment.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to syphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????
