Default 2003 Tundra Stepside Bed Extender

Hello. Friend gave me a metal bed extender, and it fits perfectly in her 2002 Access Tundra. However, it looks to be maybe an inch or two too wide for my stepside. Has anyone tried putting a metal bed extender on 2003 Tundra Stepside? Also, the factory brackets don't fit stepside. Dealer told me that my only solution is to narrow width of metal bed extender. HUH??? See attached pic. Thanks.

There are wedges screwed in using philips screws on the two center braces. Put the bed extender on your tailgate (tailgate down of course) and loosen the wedges or even take them out. Then adjust the width and put the wedges back on and screw them tight. Hope this helps.
