This is a discussion thread titled "Driver's Side Door Rattle", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I have an '03 a/c Tundra Limited. A rattle/vibration in the area where the front and back driver's side doors meet is becoming increasingly annoying. So far, I been unable to isolate it, but it seems to be coming from somewhere between the top of the doors and the bottom of the windows. While driving I have put pressure on the glass, the seat belt hanger, and door panels w/o affecting the noise.
I will be taking the truck in for its last service, before the warranty expires, in a couple of weeks. Any suggestions as to what to tell the tech, or expect from them in an effort to fix this?
have you taken your door panels off for any reason. I have the same rattle and I have pinned it down to the metal clip that the door panel hangs on the door with rubbing metal to metal.
I just dunno how to fix it.

Thanks Brandon for your response. No, I haven't taken the panel off. I have removed the cover, at the top, around the loop for the door lock, but I don't see anything that appears to be loose or rubbing. My biggest concern is the tech will tell me that it's normal and/or there's nothing they can do.
It's getting so bad that passengers keep asking "What'sthat noise?"
I had the same problem and found that coins had fallen out of my pocket and gotten lodged inside the door panel. somehow they went through the crack in the door compartment. as soon as i took the door panel off 11 cents fell out. Hope this is the case for you.
After owning my truck for over three years, the rattle/creak between the front and rear door was killing me. I took the panels off and found nothing. So after reading countless threads about this I tried putting electrical tape on the upper door striker. I wrapped the tape 7 or 8 times around it and the noise is finally GONE!!!!! Give it a try-it can't hurt. The door closes and opens alot tighter now.

Wow! I had what I thought was a screw rolling around somewhere in the cabin. I checked every cubby hole and map pocket, but found nothing. I took the passenger side door panel off and found a $1 Mexican peso! Lol.
