Cool

Nice job man. Looks real good. Put a lock on that tire and gas.

I think it needs to shine, you get a price for powder coating? Or hell, CHROME it!

TMS2U: Great pics and great job on the bumper. Man, I need to find some time to work on my rear bumper. Maybe on monday since, it's my dayoff.

Thanks guys!

I have wheel locks on the spare already and am trying to engineer some kind of locking restraint for the can now. I am gonna leave it primer for the time being to give it the old road testing to see how she holds up! Deer Valley anyone??? I also still need to fab some kind of flange for the space between the bumper and the bottom of the tailgate.

On to the next generation!!!

Here is the latest Rear bumper (Gen II)

My previous version was weak in the swingarm design. The new design is a bolt on and will have a more reinforced tire carrier and latching mechanism. I have also upgraded and simplified the hinge design.

I couldn't find a rear bumper anywhere except at the dealer for about $380. Not even a used one! I'll live with the dent.

Very cool. Only thing is I'd be very afraid to cut my quarters. I'd rather just have one that incorporated full rear quarters. I'm not complaining or being negative by any means. Looks like an outstanding job and 100% more than I'd ever be able to accomplish! So, when are you going to start making these to sell, how much, and how do I order?...

Ruenel can make you a bumper. They're really expensive tho. They can also make them so that they work with 3'' body lifts. You could also try a fab shop, they can probably make you one to look however you want. I prefer the ranch hands, with 4'' pipe and diamondplate skirts.

Brucec039,
Take the bumper to a chrome shop and they may be able to press it out. They did mine and it looked like new untill i got hit twice more now all the chrome is flaking off. I paid $156 total for the pressing and re-chroming.
