gixxerscott,
Do the PDI thing. I think they mean they will NOT do Post Delivery Inspection. That's the kid with the bucket of dirty water and sponge. When I bought my Vette in 2000, I told them do NOT touch it when it comes in. They did do little things like check fluid levels, install the lug nut covers etc. I had the pleasure of removing al the plastic, tape, protective material myself. It was like unwrapping a present on Christmas Day! Then I did the Zanio treatment. I would do this on any new vehicle you order nowdays. The paints on vehicles nowadays is terrible as far as hardness, so that extra care you show it from day one will payoff. Keep the dealers detailers away from your baby!

Thumbs down Tundra poor paint quality

I love my black when it is clean, but that only lasts about 15 minutes. It will be the last black vehicle I ever buy.
I have to agree here. I have a black Tundra, too, and it shows every spec of dust, dirt, and minor surface scratches. I agree it looks great after a nice detail, but it won't last long. Spending all that time cleaning only to have it look dirty in only a few moments makes me mad.
I'm sure glad I didn't buy a black Sequoia!

My 1988 Camry, which is silver, doesn't show a thing. That color is probably the best for covering minor paint imperfections, and it will possibly be my color choice on my next vehicle, be it car, truck, or SUV.

It will be zaio'd I met Sal( one of the zaino Bros. on the corvette forum and have been a customer for the last 5 years.

Talked to the GSM before lunch and he had one that was close but it didn't have a electro-chromatic mirror. I just left him a message telling him I would just order it so I could get all the options I wanted. (i.e. alll the options). The only thing I am unclear about is the availability of the sport suspension package on 03 . all the dealers I had spoken to indicated it was not available yet on an 03 4x2.

My current truck is a 93 SR5 4x4 It has what I believe is the best color ever on a toyota truck. Its Forest Green. I have got so many compliments on the color of this truck. I use it daily and as a work truck do not wash it often. Scratches do not show up and as a result I have had people say it looks only a couple years old. I agree that the black Tundra looks just awsome. However I saw a black IS Tundra at the local dealership. A worker owns it I believe. It pretty much convinced me not to get black as this one looks awful. If I did't now that they've only been out for few years I'd guess it to be a five year old vehicle. Too bad Toyota doesn't look into this as I know the old Japanese trucks looked great in black after years of use.

Before my Tundra I owned a T-100 (Japanese). The paint on the T-100 was much more durable than the Tundra. I too expected the same good paint quality on the Tundra, since it was a Toyota, right? The reasons for the poor paint that I've read on TS have to do with OSHA / EPA requirements, VOC ratings, etc. I've peeked at the front edge of the hoods on some of the Fords and Dodges at work, and even they seem to have less chips than my Tundra. Toyota must have done something wrong if the paint jobs are worse than Ford and Dodge. They fall under the same the same restrictions, unless they are painting them in Canadian or Mexican plants.
