Interior & ExteriorDiscussions about the interior, and exterior of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Vortex spray in liner", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Trouthead - sorry nobody's replied. I've been shopping around for a spray-in myself. I've never seen Vortex here in South Carolina, but we do have Rhino and Line-X. From everyone I've talked to, and from what I've seen, the Line-X appears to be the better product. Just an opinion. In my continuing attempts to get the best liner, I'll ask about Vortex. So far, though, it looks like it's the Line-X for me.
Seems like Vortex touts themselves as having a portable spray system that can be taken anywhere. Good for big things that can't be brought into a shop I guess.
Haven't heard good or bad about them. Here is a link to check them out just in case you haven't yet.
I can't say enough great things about my Line-x though. It's almost three years old and looks like it was just sprayed yesterday! I truely beat the living daylights out of my liner too!
Plus, Line-X has a nationwide lifetime guarantee. I know other liners have a lifetime warranty too, but if you move out of the area (Vortex isn't nearly as well-known as Line-X), you're SOL. That was just a plus for me being in the military and having to move every couple of years.
Good luck on your decision!
Andy

Along the same lines as Andy's comments, I believe Line-X and Rhino will be here for the long haul. Who knows if Vortex will be around in a couple of years when you need a repair . . .
I too am very happy with my three year old Line-X liner, which still looks new after a recent trip to the car wash.
On the other hand, as members have often mentioned, the quality and workmanship demonstrated by the installer is probably one of the most critical factors to consider when making your decision.
Sorry I don't have a better answer, but thought I would share my thoughts.
doubt I'll be moving so that is not the consideration. I just don't like the local Line-X shop as they would not deal one little bit. Wanted $100.00 just to do a tailgate. Color was a lot extra if I remember right, and it was a take it or leave it. My town is 7000 people in a county of 30000, in an area the size of MA. Too proud of his product for me. The Rhino liner man is a good body man, but I can never find him in the shop. Maybe someone out there has a VORTEX. I am not too concerned with "THE BEST" I figure that they are all a big improvement over bare steel
Thanks
I am a vortex dealer and have been for 10 years although line x is a good liner they have what we call the sandpaper affect were the vortex liner is a smooth textured finish that is easy on the load and is just as tough if not tougher and with color it will not fade like the competition and dont worry we are not going anywere we are here to stay with the new technology that we are working on your truck will rot before the liner so good luck and remember we can come to you 100% portable
I suggest you visit the shops you are considering. Take a look at the products first hand, ask questions, etc. You most likely will become comfortable with at least one shop.
LINE-X and Rhino are the only brands that currently offer a lifetime warranty, valid nationwide. LINE-X's nationwide lifetime warranty currently does not apply to composite beds. That may change in the future.
Most bedliner brands offer at least one product that is offered as an upgrade that can be used to prevent fading. It's my opinion that LINE-X has the best currently on the market, which is called Xtra. Xtra is made by Dupont only for LINE-X. Among other things, it contains a Kevlar micro pulp for extreme durabilty which is highly recommended for a pickup truck bed. LINE-X dealers may also offer Ultra Shield, another UV protection product.
I can post some LINE-X, Rhino, and Vortex pics if you wish. Perhaps the Vortex guy can post some of his pics also? I have only two pics of a white Vortex bedliner, but....I understand its a really bad job.
I guess that's true they have to know how to spray it to make it look good. I can post some friends of mine trucks that Line-X did and there pretty thin also, and even chipped BAD!!! But the HI/LO pressure thing I don't understand??? One system you can shoot the truck from one side of the shop, the other a little closer but can still get the same thickness??? So HI/Lo???? But Vortex Now has the HIGH pressure system at least the guy who shot mine did. And how come Line-X cant shoot under the lip of the rail?? Don't get me wrong I have had a Line-X liner. But after seeing other liners out there just as good and cheaper I don't think I'll be back. They All have Flaws it just who will be honest and fix there mistakes....
The pic that you might be posting "white one" maybe the same one on the thread F150online. I agree it's garbage. But I'll take a few pics of mine and post em up. Along with the Line-X peal & thin coat job also "just to keep it fair"
That might be LINE-X, but you did not post a pic of the bed tag, so I guess we'll have to just take your word for it.
Assuming it is LINE-X, it looks to me like the the truck owner needs to have it repaired for free via the LINE-X written limited lifetime warranty that's valid nationwide. Vortex does not offer a nationwide warranty.
