Default Re: Cabin Air Filter?

I took my backseat out on the weekend to look at these vents. Yeah, they are noisy, so I decided to try blocking off 75% of them to see how it works (there are 4 individual barrels in each vent). I didn't want to spend a lot of time or effort and I wanted it to be easily reversible in case it caused any ventilation or pressure issues and it had to be removed. it also didn't have to be pretty cause it'll never been seen again.

So...I simply tore 2" strips from an old bath towel, rolled them up until they were about the size of each barrel in the vent...and stuffed 3 out of 4 of the compartments on each vent.

So far it has worked great. It is MUCH quieter, and the door doesn't seem to be any more difficult to close, indicating that there is sufficient venting for pressure relief. Time will tell if ventilation is an issue.

The best thing about this si that it was free!!!
