Default New detailing forum!

Any and all questions regarding detailing, washing, waxing, etc should be put into the "detailing" forum at the top of the page. I will try, as well as many others, to answer your detail questions to the best of my ability.

Thanks to tundrasol and other mods for helping me with this.
Brandon

Hey brandon, good to see that you now have your own forum to tend to. If the ones asking for your advice will heed it, they will no doubt learn more than they thought they would ever need to know about how to clean their truck.

I try to make a difference in the world one tundra at a time!

Love the website to bro, I hope to get one similar to that in the future. I am finally going full time this summer and trying to get a name and a buisness account.

Hey Brandon, Thanks for the advice on autogeek products. I also purchased Adams products. I hope to use them on my wife's car first before I try it on my TUNDRA.
Do you have any advice on the best way to detail the top of the truck? I'm having a little trouble getting to all of it. Thanks in advance.

I usually just get in the bed and or a ladder and get the roof. I clay and seal it, but swirl removal I do about once a year.

So is the Porter Cable 7424 specialized for polishing? And in what way? I only ask bc i own a couple variable speed angle grinders with polishing pad attachments. Are these fine to use or do i need random orbiting action to prevent swirl marks?

Unhappy Re: New detailing forum!

I have a 2000 Echo with 55,000 mi and good mechanical & physical condition, but it had a leak (since repaired) that resulted in mold. There is plenty of it. What can be done? I have researched quite a bit and heard it's dangerous and can trigger serious health problems. I heard there might be places who specialize in this problem but don't know of any in my area (midway between Chicago and Milwaukee.)

Is it salvagable? How can I find some help? If no mold, it would be a great car.

Thank you.
