Remember, its not just a scoop. A hole new hood is comin out (carbon fiber). Just check your thread. Its call all the info. I'm supposed to check back around January with SUVconcepts. No one else has a planned Tundra hood. Theres no new info about a hood scoop. And, its too hard to just bolt one on... so you're stuck with the CF hood.

The hood scoops you saw in the pictures are all TRD vehicles (I'm 99% positive on this one). They were custom made for TRD for the SEMA shows. There is no plan for production.

Thumbs up

I saw a Tundra last week with hood scoops that looked awesome. Guy said they were made by LUND, and he had them painted to match his truck. They install with 3M tape, (which is hidden by the profile of the edge of the scoop against the hood), and they looked great ! Obviously they are not functional, but was a nice addition to the hood.

All that is true... but, I think they're kinda corny. I'd rather a functional, single scoop. The Lund scoops are a much cheaper option though.

Actually, Toyota had a custom hood made for them for SEMA. I forget who made it though. I'll remember sometime.

Question Hood scoop

I was looking at www.truckperformance.com at hood scoops for the 2001 Toyota Tundra. They have one, but they say it fits the SR5 model only. Why? It is a fake hood scoop and is applied by 3m tape. What is the difference between the SR5 hood and the Limited hood? Do you think the hood scoop would fit my Limited model? Thanks for any info.

There is no difference between the hood on the Limited and the SR5. I looked at the hood scoop and it would work fine. You could put it on anything really. Hope this helps.

I was wondering if a person strategically placed the hood scoop in regard to the the bottom of the hood structure if it could become functional? If you were to punch a hole into the hood and fab an air duct into the air box?
