Squeaky Interior

I am having difficulty with continual squeaking coming from the pasenger sidre door. It is coming from the forward part of the door, inside the door. it can be stopped temporarily with a thump to the molding below the window. Any advice or warnings about removing some of the trim and spraying w/ silicone, am I opening up a can of worms here?
