This is a discussion thread titled "The new 2008 LandCruiser is here, and here physically.", within the Land Cruiser forum, part of the SUV Forums category.
The new 2008 LandCruiser is here, and here physically.
I happen to have one available for sale here but risk of irking local surrounding competitors off with low pricing, which I manage to do sometimes when those around me want to make lots of $$ on a new product and I am a "let's just move the cars" kinda gal, let's do this.
I have a brand new 2008 LandCruiser in magnetic gray with ash gray interior, and the following options:
Included Options:
[CF] Carpet Floor / Cargo Mat Set
[FE] 50-state emissions (no charge)
[UP] Upgrade Package: DVD based Navigation System Includes: 8" 5th generation touch screen, Integrated JBL audio with on screen display, 6 disc CD/DVD player, Intergrated HVAC controls and on screen display, GPS coordinate capability, Back-up camera and monitor, Bluetooth application for the cellular phone (must be Bluetooth capable phone), Rear Seat Entertainment: ( LCD DVD Screen, 2- Wireless Headphones), Rear Spoiler, Front Headlight washer, Cool Box, 2nd row seat heaters, Wood grain-style & Leather Steering Wheel w/audio and voice controls and wood grain-style & Leather shift knob
and the MSRP is $71,339. Yes, that is not a typo!
To get your TS pricing, email me direct. If you are a buyer, that is.
Re: The new 2008 LandCruiser is here, and here physically.
Can you tell me if the rear DVD system is FM modulated like the previous generation or if it is directly integrated in to the sound system? Easy way to tell, start the car, put in a DVD for the rear and see if it is an input option on the headunit (FM, AM, Rear DVD etc). Also, does it have a direct input for an ipod and if so, can you control the ipod from the steering wheel controls?
I don't even want to know what Dianne's price is. I might be tempted to drive it and then....who knows. For now, that's why I'm staying away.....
I too think the price is more inflated then dealerships want to claim. The other day i was reading that Toyota was retailing them at $55,000 and the as tested price with navi all that was $62,000 where some get the $71k plus they can kept them but hey whatever float's people boat's

The only option is the Navi system but I dont see how this is a 10kplus Upgrade like some on hear might claim this is But then again I aint that stupid as a buyer.

Sure I wouldn't reading it.
I think the Land Cruiser price increase has more to do with declining US dollar and gaining Japanese Yen. It makes importing the 4runner, RAV, Lexus, highlander and LC much more tougher because of declining profits.

Well, whether you agree or not, that's the facts. The MSRP is on Toyota.com, as well as the options, that is the "retail" price, period. There are two option packages in my region, either $3600, or $7245. The dealerships aren't lying, the price on the mulrooney sticker is MSRP. Some dealers may have a add-on sticker where they add options or just pure profit, but they can't remove or alter the original. No one should pay retail/MSRP, do your research and find invoice pricing and find your best deal. There is no '08 LC with a $55k MSRP.

well then ill post the mag i found this retail price from because they did the testing and Information Doubt strongly they dont know what there referring too since Toyota supplied them a 2008 LC and toyota.com has them starting out at $62k you do the math there
Yea i do seem to think pricing levels on a few Toyota car's/Suv's are over inflated on Mrsp. It's well knowen the games some dealership like to play hell the crewmax Tundra limited started at from a few stealership in my area at 56k and now i can get one around 38k on the same truck. Idealy suited it's new so let's pay more is the ideal focus point sadly some people arn't this stuid but for those who pay retail more power to you.
Re: The new 2008 LandCruiser is here, and here physically.
The magazine had it wrong, they often get new vehicles before they are released and before pricing is set. Toyota sets the MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price), not a magazine editor.
I have no idea what you are talking about when you say "Yea i do seem to think pricing levels on a few Toyota car's/Suv's are over inflated on Mrsp". It's pretty obvious you aren't talking about MSRP, when you refer to a $56k Tundra, that is a dealer advertised price, that is not MSRP.

who payes Msrp I don't go into a Dealership and say I want that without the price negotiate on the car/truck but then again there are people out there who aren't that bright and do
It's pretty obvious I'm the type buyer who shops the ad's searching for the best possible deal breaker but then again this isn't new to be as a Loyal Toyota customer.
Like this for example if i wanted to buy a New 2007 Tundra Double cab and see an sr5 on a Saturday ad quoted for $24,600 from Cobb Toyota based in Atlanta and seeing them at other places for $28k to 30k Yea they have the truck in stock but your saving in the long run.
About the Quoted mag I really tend to beleive the $62k as tested with navi is ideally the Mrsp this 2008 Toyota Lc is set for. This had Navi too so idealy I think some price inflation is pretty much expected on this new of a product which is really nothing new in my book i've seen this with the Tundra when I lived in California too.

Hopefuly no one pays MSRP. That still doesn't change the fact that Toyota sets the MSRP, and the MSRP is easily seen on Toyota's website.

So what you are basically saying is you think that Toyota has priced the MSRP too high. This has nothing to do with whether a dealer's "price is more inflated then dealerships want to claim", whatever that means. The MSRP is the MSRP, it's not some other number you decide to come up with. I think you are simply trying to say that Toyota has overpriced the Land Cruiser, but you're the only one that knows what you are trying to say.

Im saying what is quoted on the website does mean idealy mean really what it's going to be priced at the lot's. Im not sure where some can get off and say It's higher but then again it's nothing new in my book. You know what im saying and I think you do but you fail to see any reason's on what im pointing out.No im not saying Toyota is overpricing the Lc because often at times the Stealership try to inflate the prices on something new coming out this is nothing new as I've seen this on a few New Toyota products..
