OOps...I had the first link wrong.

Air Tabs are vortex generators that breaks up the big vacuum behind bigger vehicles. This allows yer vehicle to go forward without the drag penalty. You can see a slight increase in fuel economy as well as stability when being passed by bigger vehicles like RVs, buses, and tractor trailers.

The new 2006 on up Rav4 is almost as big as the previous generation Highlander and gets an honest 27 MPG on the highway with the 4 cylinder engine.

You have a very heavy full time 4x4 with a huge V8. 15 mpg on the highway is better than I would have expected. On the other hand you have an awesomely nice vehicle that will last longer than you care to own it.

Well said !
