Default 99 lc

Hay Fella's,
did some searching but couldn't find my answer so here goes.....Is the timing belt interval 90,000 miles for a 99 LC 4.7 V-8? Also was there ever a ball joint recall on these like the Tundra's? Thanks Guys TS rules.

Yes, timing belt interval is 90k for all the 4.7L 2UZFE engines (Land Cruisers, Tundras, Sequoia, 4Runners (03 and up). I know a lot of people who add another 10-20k on the interval, but that is just because they are lazy and putting off the inevitable. You should also change your waterpump, pulleys, serpentine belt, and tensioner while your at it. I bought my 4Runner at 101k and didn't get around to changing it until 107K, but it was winter time and I didn't have access to a garage. I did mine and my buddies 99LC in back-to-back weekends. Its a full day project if you do it yourself. I would recommend the crank bolt removal tool as we had to rig something and it was a pain. There are full write-ups on changing the belt in this forum and others. Good luck.

The above is right on, and no, there is no ball joint recall like on the Tundra's.
