Default 2001 TLC w/Nav

Last week I got home from vacation and there seemed to be a problem with the power door locks. If you press "unlock" from either front door it works great, or if you press lock or unlock from the key fob it too works great. The problem is when you try to lock all doors from the lock switch from either front door, the switch does nothing on either front door. I have tried this with the doors open and shut...still no joy. I checked every fuse I could find and nada. I diassembled both switch assemblies and cleaned with compressed air...still no go. Any thoughts? I am attempting to avoid the dealer. Thanks in advance to anyone!!!

Sounds like a BAD MASTER WINDOW SWITCH. The passenger window switch runs its circuit thru the drivers master window switch, thats why it doesnt work either.
I would replace the master window switch first.

Where is this switch located (physically) under dash, in the door panel? I am not sure what part to buy. Also, did you notice that the switch unlocks the door? Could it still be a bad master switch?

The master window switch is in the drivers door panel. The master door lock switch is built into this switch. They have seperate circuits. Even if the windows work it can still cause a problem with the door locks.

Cool, I will buy on and give it a go. Could it still be bad even if the unlock function still works?

Thanks again.

Yes the lock and unlock circuits are also independant of each other.
I would have someone (dealer /friend/independant shop) that you trusted and knows electrical, double check the problem and our diagnosis.
That switch is over $300. I'd hate to see you spend that with an internet diagnosis. There could be other things wrong , but without the vehicle here and wire diagrams to guide its too hard to explain everything over the net.
Let us know what you find.
