Default Rust

I have a 96 land cruiser which runs fine. Lately the antifreeze has been leaking and the power steering has also been leaking. It seams that there are metal pipes which carry antifreeze to the rear heater coil as well metal pipes for the power steering fluid. Both are rusting and leaking.

Is this normal for a land cruiser with 180K miles?

Thanks,

Joe

Yes.

I replace rear heater tubes all the time, more often on 4Runners,but only because there are more of them on the road.P/S lines are fairly common, too.Life in the rust belt!

My '94 FZJ80 came with these hoses disconnected and plugged--no rear heat.

I replaced the pipes with 5/8" coolant hose...was much easier than trying to get the steel pipes into place. I think you'd have to loosen the motor mounts to get the pipes back into place.
