Default No intake w/supercharger???

I just purchased a 99 Landcruiser that is in amazing condition with only 80k, 2 TV's, 20's, and a supercharger. I absolutely love it! I asked him why he hadn't put a aftermarket intake on it and he said that TRD recommended to leave the stock one on. I dont see how it could benefit, but I dont wanna spend $300 on a intake if its not going to do anything. Any ideas???
Also, could I purchase a used one from someone that had it on a tundra, or are they different set ups. If so, then what year would it have to be?
Thanx guys,
Drew

If you noticed, Toyota doesn't run any type of intercooler with the supercharger. Running a FIPK style intake is not going to help get any more air in with forced induction, and if you do, it may cause some pinging or more hot air than you may like (loss of power). If you want to change the intake, I would just look into a ARB snorkle to provide some fresh outside air. My suggestion: Don't worry about the intake.

The 99' Cruiser uses the 4.7 (same as the tundra), so I believe it is the same kit for the 00' Tundra. You might check on Genuine Toyota Parts and Accessories wholesale to the public. but they might also make a turbo kit...and you could check out Sleeoffroad.com - Toyota SUV Off-Road Outfitters for some great parts.

The TRD superchargers work wonders for our vehicles by themselves. Adding a different intake won't really offer much more than what you already have.
