Default Lexus LS 600h L Nav. System

Has anyone heard of a solution to fix the E.T.A. (Estimated time of arrival) on the Lexus LS 600h L Navigation System as, on a trip of 12 hours, it over estimates the arrival time by 5 hours. All the correct parameters had been set in the setup screens.

You would expect a vehicle of this calibre would not have such an inaccurate ETA on their navigation system. I guess the "Relentless Pursuit of Perfection" does not apply to their navigation system.

I looked the car up to see if there were any TSB's and didn't find any for the nav system. Have you been to your dealership to see if they can do anything for you? Do you drive faster than the posted speed limits? That will affect your ETA as well.

The system is set to the posted speed limit. I generally drive about 5 to 10 Km's over the posted speed limit which means I should arrive in less time than what the Nav, system advises. Instead it reads many hours longer. Illogical!!!! The dealer has been trying to solve this problem for 6 months now with no success. Any suggestions?

I think I would start with replacing the Nav. ECU. In fact, I would insist that they start replacing the navigation components. You bought a VERY expensive car and this should not be an issue. If they don't take care of you, call Lexus and complain. That should get the wheels turning.

I had assumed that the issue was in fact with the setting of the speed limits (because of the fact that the ETA is an estimate based on speeds that are set up within the navigation system (city, back roads I don't know what techincal word they use for it, highway) that would in fact alter the ETA. Sounds like from what you are saying, that is in fact not the issue. If the dealership has been attempting to fix this for six months (which sounds like you got either the Neiman Marcus or Launch Edition or one of the very first vehicles) then your Service manager at your local Lexus dealership really needs to get on the ball. You have the most expensive Lexus ever to hit their line up (with prices ranging from US $104,000 to US $121,000) and the navigation system is failing miserably? Sounds to me like they can take some time and replace the navigation components, because we know that they made their money on that vehicle (mark up is insane, trust me, I see the invoices). You can almost buy three of my trucks for the price of an LS 600h L and it sounds ridiculous that my navigation is working better than yours...

If the service department is this incompetant that they have not taken these steps already, you absolutely need to get your Lexus representative involved (every dealership in the U.S. has a regional representitive, so I assume Lexus Canada would have something similar).

Thanks for both of your comments. The actual price for this vehicle that I have is $171,000.00 Canadian. Yes, I think it is time to put the real pressure on the dealer. I have carefully documented this ETA problem and am absolutely positive that the is a huge error in the ETA.

$171,00 Canadian?!?! That's about $167,000 US (according to xe.com). That's a whopping $46,000 (US) MORE than the most equipped (Executive Package) LS 600hL AWD in the United States (approx. $121,000 before tax, tag, title). Sounds to me like Lexus Canada is charging way more dollars for a far less experience. I know that many people in Canada figured it was worth it to import their Tundras to Canda. for a chunk of change of $46,000 ($3,000 MORE than MSRP of my entire truck) it would have been HIGHLY worth importing from the United States...

The United States is trying to put a stop on that .In fact if memory serves me corrrect they can delay claims for warrent repairs which sucks in my opinion. I know on my navi system i can change the speed on the settings and this adjust my time or Eta but it's soo minor i don't find fault with it..
