2 of my friends here in las vegas have twin turbo supras
#1 856 hp at the rear wheels
#2 948 hp at the rear wheels
They both use the factory short block!
Oh ya with A/C
I would love to see the power plant as EDDIE said.
I'm sorry I let you guys down... that's what I get for listening to someone's 'word of mouth'.

HKS and fabled race car driver Nobuteru Taniguchi hit the street of Long Beach, California for Formula D's Drift Demonstration during the Champ Cars' Long Beach Grand Prix. Taniguchi debuted his 650 HP and 700 ft lbs of torque, HKS built Toyota Aristo (Lexus GS300) drift car which wowed the crowd. Taniguchi paired with good friend Rhys Millen slide sideways through the 1.9mile course in a smoky blur, and received a standing ovation from fans and Champ Car drivers alike.
If you missed out on seeing Taniguchi's Aristo at Long Beach the car will be featured in the HKS Booth (#1229) at the SEMA International Auto Salon.

So thats a GS 300?
I noticed it had a 3.4L stroker kit. I'm assuming they took the 3.0 and stroked it to 3.4L?
Isn't that the same engine in the supras? Somone told me it was. Put a turbo on them and they can put down some mega power.
I was at a little supra meet here in houston not to long ago at Horsepower Engeneering (HPE) and they were dynoing supras, and most were putting out about 600-750 hp, but some were putting out 900-1200 hp! thats no typo.
They were nitros fed and had huge turbos on them of course. Nonetheless, thats insane.

The 2JZGTE is the turbo version. Non-turbo Supras and GS300/SC30 use the 2JZGE,slight differences in the bottom end (different pistons, rods,no piston oil jets) and different cylinder head (2JZGTE intake and exhaust manifolds do not bolt up)

So it would'nt be much trouble to convert a GS 300 2JZGE to a 2JZGTE eh? (I don't know all that secret code talk, i just copied and pasted what you said...heh) Unless theres differences in the block so that they manifolds don't bolt up? is that what you were saying?
When i was at that meet i mentioned, there was a SC300 that, i guess was converted, cuz he had a big-A turbo on it and a roll cage inside. It was cool.
Back to this car- what really is this we're looking at here? is it the V8 or the I6 engine on this red GS?
Edit: Ah all i had to do was read the post...its the 2JZGTE...or I-6 in S-Man Speak... How did i miss that the first time!?

turbo 2jzge's can make just under 600whp on stock internals (minus headgasket). That Black SC300 at Suprameet 2k5 was an NA to Turbo car (592 whp i think) that was built by BoostLogic in Austin. I think the White Sc300 was NA to turbo but had a built bottom end (put down over 800whp).
The pistons and rods are nearly identical up to 97 between turbo and non-turbo. The VVT-i motors (97+) have weacksauce internals, hence why not many IS300s arent making siginificant power on this side of the Pacific.

OOOohhh i was wondering why somone don't mod out an IS 300...that would be dope yo! heh.
But seriously, an IS with 600 hp, ther'd be no stoppin' it.
I don't think we're talkin about the same meet. Perhaps the same car was at both meets though. The meet i went to was at a tuner shop called Horsepower Engeneering (HPE) on the NW side of outside Houston, between Antoine and N. Houston Rosslyn.
There were supras from new mexico, Louisiana, Oklahoma and all over texas...it was insane. but it was cool.

In my experience, most IS300 owners can barely afford the car or would rather spend their money on cosmetics.
There's a guy in NJ with a pretty modified IS300 (bit turbo etc),unfortunately he spun out at the track recently and totalled it. He's OK but the car is FUBAR
I just got in touch with an old friend from back in our street racing days,he's shopping around for a GS300 and has a spare Supra TT motor, trans, and AEM that'll be replacing the original drivetrain
Sweet! why didn't you stop me and say "hi"? Heh.
You don't happen to remember seeing a white van with The Incredible Hulk on one side, and Wolverine on the other side do you? If so, that was me and my brother (his van). He deals alot with the guys at HPE.
