1998 Lexus Drains Battery - Toyota Tundra Forums : Tundra Solutions Forum

Hi,

I've got a 1998 Lexus GS400. Suddenly if I do not run the car for a day I come out to find the battery dead. Anybody have any ideas on what might cause this? Replaced the battery but still again the battery comes up dead if I haven't started the car in a day or two.

have you added anything new? Radio? amp? alarm?
Make sure the trunk light goes out when closing, have someone shut you inside and make sure it goes out.

get a multimeter and test for a amp draw, start removing fuses 1 at a time until you find the cicuit at fault. or take it to someone who can if you dont have the corect tools.

Make sure when the car is running that the system is showing 14v at the battery indicating that the alternator is charging. Make sure your wiring is not coroded.

I know this is a late posting but I had this problem and it turned out that at times I was not closing the back left rear door. it looked closed but it seems the just a small gap will keep the lights on. FYI
