I have an LS430, 2001, and have used mid-range octance-89 with no performance degradation. Currently have 87k miles on my vehicle. Anyone else experience similar results? Thanks.../frank

No. My 2002 RX300 burns regular fuel. I did own a 2001 RX300 for a short time. The engine would ping when slowly accelerating up a hill. The dealer responded with the recommendation to burn premium fuel, which they routinely recommend. A couple weeks later it was found that this RX (with 30k miles) was sludged. Fortunately, I was able to return the vehicle to the seller. (some auto brokers with integrity still exist!)
