Default Suspension problems

As I was driving down the highway yesterday, my 2002 LS430 suddenly started riding very rough and I thought I had a flat tire. Inspection revealed the tires were all okay, and I eventually realized the suspension was up when the message indicator said "height hi." I hit no button that I know of, and in trying to get the suspension back to normal, switched to "hi" and then back to "normal" and drove over 20MPH, but the suspension is still high. Do I need to have the system checked? Has anyone else encountered this problem?

This is my second Lexus and the first problem (excepting some difficulty getting everything repaired after hitting a deer a year ago). I keep thinking there must be a way to return the suspension to normal.

You should go to your dealership and have them check the hight sensors. I believe there are three in your car.

You have bad height sensors we see it all the time it is probably the rear one the sensors lock up and some times break the links

I called Lexus about the "height hi" problem, and they agreed to trailer it to the nearest dealer (2 hrs. away) on a Friday afternoon. The dealer was great to work with as they identified the problem immediately, ordered the part over the weekend (front sensor), and had the car repaired by early Monday afternoon.....and Lexus covered the sensor and labor under warranty. I hadn't expected any problems with a Lexus (although our previous one had a leaking gastank), but at least the company stands behind their cars and deserves their reputation for excellence.
