Maintenance Schedule 1999 Lexus LX470 - Toyota Tundra Forums : Tundra Solutions Forum

Good Morning All,

My buddy just bought a used Lexus LX470 with all the bells and whistles but without a maintenance /owners manual. He's just turned 71,000.

I searched Denso spark plugs....they seem to list Irradium type for the 4.7 L engine which he has. I suspect he's good until 100,000+ but not sure. Can someone guide me to a maintenance schedule for this vehicle?

Also the type plugs he should use? Denso is probably the preferred but I know NGK has cross refrenced plugs on my Tundra with a 4.7L. Seemed to be some discrepancy on what Toyota recommends. Local dealer indicated Toyota doesn't recommend the use of NGK plugs in their products...I thought he was trying to sell me his Denso when O'Rielly had NGK at a more competitive price. Any truth to this?

the spark plugs for 99 were rated for 90k, 2000 was 120k. get a set of the iridiums and forget about it. denso and ngk are both oem suppliers for plugs on toyota engines. it takes about a minuite to pull one plug on that, check and use the brand that came in it if you are concerned.

Same engine as Tundra....plugs easy to change. Since Tundra has the 30K type plugs, was wondering if Lexus was the same. Evidently not. A set of irradiums would be the choice . Thanks for your info.
