Default 2002 GS430 Navigation unit (trunk)

Hello everyone....

I have a broken rear dvd rom drive that is mounted in
the trunk. It is made by Denso, with a toyota part #
of 86841-33060.

Other then the dealer, does anyone know a place or
phone number for a repair facility? Dealer wants $1800
for a core exchange. Seems silly considering that its
just the laser that has failed. A $45 part.

Any help would be great.
Thanks
Adam Raines

Thank you!

It's a Denso made unit, not Fujitsu Ten. But if you think
that they have access to parts, or I can send it to them
for repair that would be GREAT.

Please let me know.
Adam

ok the best i can do is the denso help line, 888-668-2900 and i believe the first phone menu option is warranty and non warranty repair info. ive never dealt with them but i do know they are open only during business hours. not that it matters but sometimes there is a denso or toyota part number when the product is made by nakamichi, pioneer, fujitsu-ten, etc. but its usually pretty obvious if you look around the unit. many of the nav units were f/t but im not sure about yours. in any case denso does the support so thats your best option. also, i know weve sent old engine ecu's off to electronic repair specialists and had good results, id bet theres a good chance they could help you as well.
