Default Jam protection function HELP!!

I own a 2000 RX300. The front passenger motor had to be replaced and the back passenger window slipped out of the rubber in the track. Both were fixed and now when I try to use the Automatic function the window does not stay up. It hits the top and goes down halfway. There is nothing in the way when it does this. Is there something I can do to get both windows to work properly again?

Thank you!!

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure all of the Lexus' come with a safety in them that if something gets caught in the window it will automatically drop the window to the half way mark. It sounds like something is causing the rear window to bind on it way up and triggering this safety. Another posibilty could be the windshield motor isn't installed/adjuseted correctly - I wouldn't know for sure on this without taking the door apart. I haven't had this problem on my GX470, so I haven't taken the door liner off and examined the setup. I do know on my GMC the just rivet the motor in place - the fix? drill out the rivets and redow the entire motor installation assmbly - not fun.

Who did the work? If was the dealer, I'd be taking it back.

Hmm...In my head I'm (on a total guess, mind you) visualizing a gear pack and the motor and all that, and those together have a preset amount of travel in which the window should go up. Maybe the repair wasn't completely done right and, once the glass reaches all the way up, the gears actually think it's only about 3/4 the way up and backs off.
OR
Check how easy it is for the window to raise when you press the switch. Maybe there's something too tight in there, like the rubber may be pressing too hard against the glass. This may cause the safety feature to back off. Check it out and let us know how it goes!
