Re: 2002 ES300 a/c problem
Check your belts first, then have someone turn the a/c on and off with the car running and see if the clutch tries to engage. If there is no reaction from the clutch, you may have a problem with that or the circuit to it. You may find that it tries to turn, then quickly goes back to freewheeling. In this case you'll want to take off the compressor and see if it is locked up. If so it would be a very good idea to install a new clutch with the new compressor, and youll have to make sure it is shimmed correctly after assembly. If you get one from a parts yard you probably wont need to dis- and re- assemble the unit.
