Default Instructions for Fog Light Mod for 2003 Tundra's without DRL's

Instructions for Fog Light Mod for 2003 Tundra's without DRL's:

1. Remove the (4) 10mm bolts that hold on the lower dash panel. The lower dash panel has 4 spring clips near the top where it connects to the upper part of the dash, with a little effort, the panel will pull out. Gently pull and pry until they are snapped out. Let it hang down.

2. Remove the panel with the dashboard light dimmer switch by pulling towards you. Only clips hold this in.

3. Remove the lower half of the steering column cover by removing the brass colored screw in the center underneath and the two black screws facing the driver when the steering wheel is turned 90º to the right and left from center. Gently pull the bottom cover free from the top, several small plastic clips hold them together.

4. Disconnect the wire harness from the bottom of the combination light switch. The wire harness is held to the steering column by a black clip, if you reach behind the clip and press in the retaining tab the clip will release giving you better access to the wires. Remove the plastic sleeve covering the wires.

5. Locate the red wire with the yellow tracer (be careful there is also a red wire with yellow tracer with gray dots).

6. Cut the red wire with the yellow tracer about half way between the connector and the retaining clip. Tape the harness side of the loose red wire with yellow tracer to prevent shorts and add a male spade connector to the switch side of the wire (the end closest to the connector).

7. Add a female spade connector to one end of about 24” of 16 or 18 gauge wire and snap it into the male connector. Cover the connectors in tape and wrap the wires from the connector to the retaining clip. Press the retaining clip back into the steering wheel bracket and reattach the connector to the combination light switch.

8. Run the wire down the harness, taping it every 1-2 inches, to where it intersects the harness coming from the dimmer switch. Jump to the dimmer switch harness leaving a little slack to allow the steering column to tilt up and down.

9. Cut the wire to length and connect it to the green wire on the back of the dimmer switch using a Scotchlok tap connector. Be sure not to cut the green wire, just tap into it with the connector.

10. Test lights and re-install all panels.
