Default 04 Tundra DC Fog Light Mod Extra Info

Just in case any other 2004 double cab owners need to add fog lights, there are a couple differences that I ran across from the other fog light mod info. The relay is inside the cab on the back side bottom middle of the fuse block (have to have a mirror to see where it goes) and it is part# 90987-02012 instead of the other one mentioned in the mod post. It is a very small black rectangular relay instead of the larger square one that goes under the hood in other models. The 04 DC is prewired from the relay outward though, and mine even already had the fuse in place in the fuse block, so all you have to do is use the plugs already found at the light slots behind the bumper to connect to your lights, install the relay behind the fuse block, then tap into the two wires that run to the turn signal combo switch to go to the dash mounted 2002 switch. I chose to do the true factory functional install instead of tapping into the dimmer wire like the mod suggested, so I tapped into the correct red/white and green/black wires running up the steering column to pigtail over to the 2002 switch I bought for the slot in the dash next to the dimmer control. They are the only red/white and green/black wires in the bundle of about 14 wires entering the steering column. You can use the other info in the mod post concerning the switch terminals and such. The 04 DC does however have a difference in the way the 2002 switch goes into the slot. It isnt a true fit. You have to router/scrape out the oval hole a little bit all the way around in order to get the switch to fit into it, then trim down all 4 of the plastic edge slide guides of the switch, and clip off a protruding slot guide from the top edge of the switch. Even after that the 02 switch is angular shaped while the 04 dash isnt so the switch button looks kind of strange in the hole - the top sticks out farther than the bottom. It wont fit at all if you try to turn it upside down, so I am guessing in 02 and 03's maybe the dash is at a different angle than the 04 DC. It will fit however after some routering and click into place and work fine.
