Default HOW TO:Alternative - Foglight Modification for Tundras W/O DRL's

Instructions for Tundra's without DRL's:

Parts:
1 3M Scotchlok connector
1 double pole - double throw (DPDT) switch.
3 pieces of 22ga insulated wire about 2.5 ft long.

Tools:
Drill
Drill bit for hole for switch (size depends on your switch)
Phillips head screwdriver
10 mm socket and ratchet and extension
soldering iron
solder and flux
wire striper (or knife)

Process:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS FIRST BEFORE DISASSEMBLY OF YOUR VEHICLE OR CUTTING ANY WIRES. I have done my best to provide thorough text to successfully complete the modifications. Serious damage to your vehicle can result from incorrect wiring. Always disconnect the battery when making modifications to your vehicle.
1. Remove the (4) 10mm bolts that hold on the lower dash panel. Now with a little effort, the panel will pull out. The lower dash panel has 4 spring clips near the top where it connects to the upper part of the dash. Gently pull and pry until they snapped out. Let it hang down.
2. Remove the panel with the fog light switch and the panel light dimmer switch, by pulling towards you. Only clips hold this in.
3. Remove the 4 trim screws on the floor door molding. Pull up the floor molding.
4. Remove the one screw holding the lower plastic trim panel (by the drivers feet - left side). Remove that panel with a little effort, only clips hold it in.
5. On the backside of the fog light switch, cut the red wire with a yellow tracer, about 2 inches towards the harness.
6. Strip ¼ inch of insulation from both cut red wires.
7. Solder one of the 2.5 ft wires to each of the red wires
8. Locate the green wire on the back of the panel light dimmer switch. Use a 3M Scotchlok connector or strip the wires a little and use solder and tape to connect the last 2.5 ft wire to the green wire.
9. Now solder the end of the 2.5 ft wire that connects to the red wire with yellow tracer (coming out of the fog light switch) to the center terminal on the switch.
10. Solder the wire from the green wire (on the back of the panel light dimmer switch) to one of the side terminals on the switch.
11. Solder the red wire with a yellow tracer (coming from the harness) to the last terminal on the switch.
12. Drill a hole in the far corner of the trim panel to mount the switch (see note below).
13. Run the wires (with switch) down to the hole and mount the switch.
14. Test lights and re-install panels.

With the switch in one position the fog lights will operate normally. With the switch in the other position the lights should come on any time your marker (tail) lights are on.

**Note:** You can locate the new fog light selector switch anywhere you want. Just be sure to leave your wires long enough to get to where you're going. I chose to mount the switch out of the way under the dash where it would not get bumped. I figure I will not be switching it often (probably never), but still wanted to be able to return to the factory setting if needed.
Good Luck,
