They look different, but if it pressed in and was tight we might use them. I changed to longer studs in my mustang and have no issues. They pressed in and then I tacked each one just to be sure.
I'd have to try pressing one to give you a 100% answer, but it would be worth a shot at least 1 time to find out.

Yes, they look like a significant difference 3-4 threads and thats why I use the longer lug nuts to get that 3-4 threads the other direction.

Thanks for the pic, I'll look into this, but I think at the dealership, we have to look at expense and changing studs might be cost prohibitive vs. longer lug nuts. I will however give that opion to our customers now, THANK YOU

If you find longer studs, please shoot me a LINK. I'd like to have this as an option as well. Studs are costly to replace if we(the dealer) have to change them for a customer. Thanks

We do lifts and wheels all the time and use a TAPERED Lug nut that has a shank. The regular tapered lug nuts get about 6 threads on the stud. The ones we use get just over 10...never had a problem. This link is just a picture of what we use, ours are from EAGLE or American Racing, but this would work too. I have not found any longer studs, so we use this so far/so good.
