That airplane crashed in the snow pic I had. It looks like a Navajo because that is what it is. Landed downwind on a snow/ice covered runway. Ran off of the end.

    Hey Ken,

Thanks for asking. The Fitch Fuel Catalyst is working exactly as the company said it would. I am very pleased with it to this point and have not noticed anything bad about it past the initial installation. The installation was a nightmare because the instructions are too vague. I would have been better off not having any instructions. Another member here sent me pictures of his install and that is how I figured out how to do mine. The hardest part was figuring out where to mount it as space is at a premium under my hood. Beyond that, I could install them all day now. It retrospect it was easy.

For full details on the performance of the Fitch you can view the blog I have started here on this forum or my personal blog which has a few other articles or thoughts on fuel economy in general.

I will do a write up on the initial testing and post on the forum.

19+ MPG on the Highway at 75 MPH in a DC with a four speed automatic and a bad O2 sensor - not too shabby!

  • 16.7403 MPG.8973 MPG decrease

These numbers are pretty darn good. The good fuel economy seems to have become par for the course – not that I am complaining. Considering that these numbers are the result of mixed driving with some trailer miles the MPG numbers are quite excellent.

I attribute the good fuel economy to the

  • 325.7 miles mixed driving

  • 30 minutes of idling with air conditioner running
  • 20.491 gallons Shell87
  • 15.8948 MPG
  • .8973 MPG decrease over last city with all trailer and A/C

These mileage numbers were pretty evenly divided between city, highway and trailer pulling. The overall mileage is excellent with that in consideration. I am fairly well convinced (although I have yet to confirm this)...

  • No trailer A/C all the time
  • Cruise control at 75 MPH
  • 8.518 gallons Shell87
  • 18.7603 MPG
  • .5407 MPG increase over last highway driving

These numbers are actually a little bit better than they appear on the surface. The first 22 miles were in town with a few stops. The truck idled at those stops for at least ten minutes with the air conditioner running full blast. Close to the end of the run we pulled over...
