I've gone through some of your threads and I'm really intrigued. I'm diving into a project that will convert my '06 SR5 DBC V8 to manual transmission. I'll also be doing it with a 3urfe 5.7liter V8. I know of at least one person in TS that has done the V8 swap and another that did the manual swap but kept his 4.7liter. I'm also hooking up my truck along the way. I've already planned that I'll need...
    1. 5.7liter
    2. ECU
    3. manual transmission (already have a R154 supra 5 speed but would rather use a T56 6speed)
    4. Custom driveshaft - considering going through driveshaftshop.com for that - aluminum.
    5. Rearend -considering that I'll use a 2ndGen tundra V8 reareand.
The motor will obviously be lighter in comparison to my iron block (roughly 40-45lbs) so that's a plus and also my '06 weighs just over 1000lbs less than the 2ndGen tundra so that'll help with mpgs and wear and tear issues. Why am I going with a manual, simple, I hate automatics, there.

    take it easy.

Id like to use them both on and offroad. Using them on would be discretionary but off they'd be on tge minute I hit dirt

Hey man, I'm looking into some lights for the front of my truck and was wondering what you'd recommend that won't break the bank, but will give me a good wide pattern that is a good mix between a fog and a spot.

What I have my eyes on, in this order original interest, are the PIAA 520 ATP (40* pattern), Lightforce 170 (heavily interested in these the last few days), and the IPF 968CS (and since you're an ARB dealer, I was wondering what you thought of these).

You think I could get away with running those at night? What's the candlepower on the IPFs? And which one would you recommend for general purpose like I"d like... I will be mounting on the brush guard.

I understand lockers are available for the front differential. Can you explain how they work and what he downside might be. Have a 2010 Tundra 4X4 two weeks old. Been stuck twice in two weeks in very little mud. Good road truck but this is unacceptable. Thank you.
  9. Hey Mark,

The lockers are on track for May.

Good to hear about the plow working well.

I think it may be a combo of the stiff tires, lift etc. Try loading up the bed and see how the truck reacts. The VSC on my truck is also like your's... but seems quite a bit better when my snowmobile is loaded in the back. I don't know what the ultimate solution is, but hope to spend some time figuring it out this spring.

    Hey Brian,

Hows it going with the lockers? Truck handles the Boss plow with wings no problem just lack of snow. Question for you if you have any input, recently upgraded tires to 275/70/18E running 60 psi, problem is VSC, off ramps or quick take offs VSC comes on. Had dealer do a ZERO POINT CALIBRATION yesterday $100.00 did nothing. Seen and read posts on this issue across 4 sites, some say it works some say it does'nt work. One post suggested shimming the VSC sensor under the center console, my truck sit level or just a little rake.If problem was there before tires it was less sensative never notice it. I know the tires increased the leverage point of the vechicle for turns but for starting and stopping? Wheel sensors? Hope all is well MARK
