Default Norfolk/Tidewater VA Area

Post your updates, plans and area related information for meets in Tidewater (Williamsburg, Yorktown, Newport News, Norfolk, Suffolk, Chesapeake, VA Beach). I would like to get into meeting every so often, just to exchange information, check up on and help install modifications, and bascially shoot the shid. Maybe plan a weekend trip down to Nags Head or the like sometime this summer to take the rigs out to the beach. Post up if you're in the area!!!!

Guess I'll stard, I'm Josh! Live in Newport News and just picked up my Salsa Red Double Cab this past weekend. Didn't even make it home for the dealer without ordering a color matched grill, rubber floormats, bug gurard and an Access Roll-up Tonneau. Plan on going street performance style later on once the supercharger comes and out and the bugs are addressed. My previous vehicle was a supercharged, alcohol injected 1999 manual 3.4 toyota 4runner. Here are a few pictures, just sold it this weekend to buy the Tundra!

Here are some pics of the new rig... Figures, my first 2x4 and it snows when I picked it up (at the beach)

Hi Josh, I'm Mike. I got mine the day i got home in November. I am orginially from Smithfield, VA, thus reason for my license plates if you ever catch me rolling around in norfolk or down Jefferson or Mercury on my way to care for my family that still lives on the other side of the JRB. So far Mods that i have completed are listed in my signature and now that my W-2 is back expect to see a Linex'd/Lifted/Dual Exhaust Tundra running around as well. I think, and can't confirm this, but i might be the only Timberland Mica/debadged 07 SR5 running around the tidewater area right now with Blacked out headlights. If you see a Tundrasolutions Sticker in my back window then you got me, track me down and i'll gladly introduce myself. As for your LED work, my offer is still up, i will show ya how to do it and even solve your annoying buzzer problem that everyone has, but i just don't feel comfy doing that kind of work for other people... something goes wrong i don't make enough to fix it

Mike

Mike, I hear ya on the liability thing. Did you do your own headlights? I would intersted in doing those also. I watched the DIY video posted, but there is nothing like having experience present. I'll let you know about the LED's, might not be for a while. What exhuast do you plan on ordering?

Josh

Yeah i did my own headlights. If you need a hand with that i can assist. My buddy at work is going to have me do his(so instead i am trading his headlights for mine, and will have to do the project over again). This coming up weekend i might be capable of assisting the with the headlight mod on like saturday evening/night, or you can catch me after work not this week but next week. I will take some good photos of my work later today and try to upload them, but i am stuck at work right now.

My exhaust i am planning on a stainless steel true dual. I am going to make my own but base it off TRD system. I want two mufflers, i don't like the 2 downpipes to 1 muffler to 2 exhausts setup that TRD and Borla offer, and i also want the exhaust to exit behind the each of the back tires. i am going to look under the truck further when my money for the project is ready, and i might back down and just order one..but for now i am still planning.

Mike

Yeah i think it could work. I can dart out of work to come over to get ya going. Really isn't a stressful mod just time consuming between coats LOL.

Email me next week so that we can coordinate location, time, etc.

What's up dudes. I haven't checked this midatl forum in a while. Meet? where's the meet? I'm down. You all def need to mark your calendars fro the next OBX meet. I'd like to have a half dozen trucks at least.
You guys doing what, mods or sompin? huh? I'm down for whatever. I can help you with anything as long as you have a plan. Also, I drink Bud Select.
If you all have a lift or a couple extra jacks I'd like to do some tire rotations and retorque my wheel adapters. Heck, maybe even paintmy calipers! haha

I'm full of want-to-do's. Just never have-the-space. I live in an apt. And I have tons of looky-loos.

ok, I'm watchin this thread now.

Take it easy,
Andy

Thanks... Done brush mountain a little, coal hill a few times. Nothing hardcore, with having spent so much on the supercharger and whatnot, I couldn't afford to break too much stuff in school.

hear that.

my buddy was ME major and built a buggy from his old K5. That thing was sick. He towed it to the mtn with his silverado then went nutz on the trails. Most of the time he broke something. But he'd always fix it himself in his driveway.

I love Roanoke St.

HAHAHA, yea I am thinking about going back down to Bburg Superbowl weekend to make some bad decisions... First trip in the Tundra since I picked her up last week! My roomate and couple other good friends were in Sinking Creek 4x4 Offroad Assoc. and I hung out with them a few times. Good times on the trails, specially when your in a truely capable rig!! The 4runner was more a HP increased street queen haha. I was an ME also, graduated in 07 workin down at Northrop Grumman...

Default Re: Norfolk/Tidewater VA Area

Where are you doing this painting? I'm in need of a non-child bearing garage or a designated paint room. I am going to be primer, base and clearcoat my bumper and grille to color match. I've got everything ready, just waiting on the right time. I'll be prepping all the pieces this week. Maybe I'll put the primer on and fine steel wool 0000 the whole thing before the basecoat this week. But would like to do the basecoat and clearcoat within the confines of a roof! haha.

Where'd you guys end up meeting up?
