Default CB User Help?

Hey fellas i just installed a CB on the tundra, just a mini one with channel 1-40. Any of you guys got some veteran advice for a novice user? 9 and 19 are emergency correct? what channels does everyone normally monitor?

Channel 9 is the emergency channel. Most State Police monitor 9.

Channel 19 is the one the truckers hang out on.

Hey Mike, I've noticed here in the Tidewater area there is a lot of spanish on ch 9. And depending on which end of I-64 you are on (Willoby Spit, Norfolk or Deep Creek, Chesapeka) you'll hear some boosted base stations on ch 19 either just making noise to annoy truckers or bashing them to no end.

I mounted a Uniden scanner on top of my CB and got the freqs for state police, tunnel/bridge guys, and the VDOT white rescue trucks. Always know where traffic is stopped dead using the two units. Also know when the Troopers are in Court and when they hit the road again, and what locations they are in, when I feel the need for speed.
