This is a discussion thread titled "Where are all the Michigan Members?", within the Midwest forum, part of the News and Events category.
Nothing is for sure yet. Probably somewhere between East Lansing and the Detroit area. I'm looking for an engineering (electrical) job in the automotive industry so it depends on where I get a job. It has always been a dream of mine to work in the auto industry. Personally I would love to work at the Toyota Technical Center in Ann Arbor. My girlfriend will be going to grad school at MSU, so that is why I would like to stay somewhat close to East Lansing if possible. I guess I will see what happens.
From what I gather about MI car culture Toyota vehicles seem sort of rare out there, or at least "frowned" upon. The Detroit Free Press has played a large part in that perception, so I'm not sure if it is totally unbiased.

Yeah, around Metro Detroit (where I live) there is nothing but GM, Ford, and Chrysler. I see more Tundra's than I do 05 Tacoma's. East Lansing and Ann Arbor are like a 2-3 hour drive away from each other, just a heads up and traffic/roads here are very unique, though I never been to California so maybe that are not that different.

Hope to get you here soon!!!!!!!!!!!
I used map quest and it said a little more than an hour for that drive. Every time I have used map quest I have arrived I the time they listed or less. I'll bet MI traffic is much different, especially in the winter. Freeway speeds here are 80+ as long as there isn't a traffic jam. Thanks for the heads up though.

I'm from Ann Arbor (Superior Township) and drive a 2004 Tundra D-Cab SR5. Going down to Milan wednesday the 27th to get a 1/4 mile time. Sure would be nice to see some other Toyota Trucks there! Also for those into subwoofers, theres a subwoofer competition in Adrian MI on the 31st of July. I've never been to a sub competition so I'm not sure what to expect.
