Anyone interested in a Midwest (Illinois) Tundra Gathering?
All of the Tundra gatherings I read about are located in the southwest. (CA, NV,CO, TX). Is anyone interested in having a midwest gathering here in Illinois? We could meet somewhere in the middle of the state, say Champaign or Bloomington. Then maybe drive our Tundra Caravan to the plant in Princeton, IN. via the scenic route. Now would be the time to start planning something for next spring or early summer. I'd be willing to contact the plant and see if we could get a tour when we arrived. I'd really like to have a chance to meet some other Tundra owners but driving to California is just too damn far for a visit. Maybe we could have a simultanious west coast, east coast and midwest jamboree.

I would be game if we could do it in Princeton IN. Toyota might even take an interest in this one. I have been on a tour of the Georgetown KY Plant and it will blow your mind. If enough people show interest I may be able to atleast use some connections I have to see if the Tundra plant would be interested in seeing what we do to our trucks for their own learning benefit...
i'm in dayton, ohio...very close to whatever state that is to the west--indiana, i think (hey, i just moved here). sure, let's meet up somewhere central.
The suggestions generated thus far have been great! I'm all about participating and may be able to help with the organizing. The idea I'd like to throw out there is that the off-roading be done at the Badlands Offroad Park in Attica, IN (about 150 miles from Princeton). Keep this ball rolling and let's make this happen!
It looks like this could happen and would be really cool. I would like to suggets making it a two part event around May 22nd, 23rd, 24th. Monday May 26th is Memorial Day. The first part would be everyone who's interested meeting at a hotel in Princeton, IN. on Thursday evening on the 22nd. Friday we would tour the Plant and then drive our caravan to Champaign, IL. There is also a really nice State Park about 35 minutes east of here we could camp at if anyone would want to do that. Otherwise I can get a list of good (and cheap) hotels to stay at in Champaign. Saturday would be the main event here in the parking lot at Parkland College. They have car shows and other things here all the time. Might have a few vendors attend and set up some booths. It would depend on how many people were serious about attending. If this sounds good, let me now and I'll keep finding out what our options are. Most people have Memorial Day off so those from further away would have plenty of time to drive back before Tuesday. We could also pretty much count on good weather that time of year.
