Default Group dyno run

Anyone in the NE want to get into a group dyno run at New England Dyno?

There is another Dodge fan that is getting a group run together for the Dodge group. I thought it would be interesting to get Chevy, Dodge, and Toyota trucks together and have a group Dynamometer run. It would be a lot more interesting to have Chevy, Dodge, Toyota, and possibly even Ford trucks all at the same place over just having Toyota trucks there.

We would get together on a set date and each person would have a couple of tries putting our trucks on a Dynamometer possibly with an exhaust gas analyzer too. The more people that go the cheaper it will be but the cost is probably going to be around $65. You can even switch exhaust systems or intake systems around to see what effect it has on engine power. I think it will be very interesting to at least watch.

You will also know exactly how much power and torque your truck makes (they are all different even among the same make) and you will get to see just how you stack up against the competition.

It’s going to be held at,
Quest Racing
9 Lenora Street
Worcester, MA

The date it’s being held is the 29th of March. The dyno run will cost ~$65 and hotdogs, hamburgers, and drinks will be served. I will get the zip code tomorrow.

Hopefully I can get Vanity plates to bring his supercharged v6 and Tundra plumber to bring his 500+ horsepower modified v8 Tundra. I would be kind of cool to have a supercharged v6 stock v8, and supercharged v8 all being run on the same dyno on the same day. There will of course also be Dodge, Ford, and Chevy fans there too, which makes it even more interesting.

I will have more details tomorrow hopefully!

Default Dyno run info

For everyone that is definitely going you have to sign up on the website provided below. The Dyno run is limited to 30 vehicles so if you don’t sign up and just show up you may not be able to put your vehicle on the dyno if the 30 slots fill up. The cost is again $65 and if 30 people go we figured that you will get a minimum of four runs with more if less than 30 people show/sign up. If you want exhaust gas analyzing it will cost an extra $10 and hamburgers, hotdogs, and drinks will be served as part of the price from there grill. This is going to be a fantastic even that you don’t want to miss. There will be Chevy, Dodge, Ford, and Toyota owners there.

Please go to http://www.nedyno.com to sign up. Click on Dyno signup and select “Jakes New England Dyno Shootout March 29th” and fill out the online application.

The address is,

New England Dyno & Tuning, Inc
7 Lenora Street - Worcester, MA 01607
Phone: (508) 752-5557

I just signed up, so count me in. I might bring one of those Poweraid or Tornado things to get some hard results as if they actually work.

Great! I'm going to run some tests too comparing a stock exhaust with a Spintech muffler.

Default Dyno...

Thanks for the information on the tuning shop. I was looking hard for a place to get my Supra tuned.
I already e-mailed them. Do you know much about this shop? Has anyone you know used them, if so, were they happy.
This place is close by hopefully they have some experience with the TT.

I have had some work done there on an engine and was very happy with their service. The question about the TT Supra would be one I would ask them or just cruise around their website and see the many pictures of import dyno runs they had. Their whole facility is impressive and they would be more than happy to give you or anyone a free tour of it like they did with me two years ago.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but maybe someone could clear this up. If we are able to swap parts/mods at the dyno shop, aren't the results going to be off. My understanding is that the Toyota's computer has learning capabilities, and if you perform a modification, it takes a little time of driving around for the computer to adjust and set new parameters. If I just change something in the parking lot, the computer specs might not be adjusted correctly to just throw it on the dyno right away, which in turn will give a false result.

You know I think you might be right! Right now my Tundra is stock. I've purchased a Spintech muffler and wanted to try that out. Maybe if someone brings a stock Tundra than the people who have modified Tundra's would be able to use the stock Tundra as a benchmark for their results. I'll have to find out. What do you have in mind?
