I heard he is pushing for a higher gas tax, but, to tax the type of car or truck you drive.
We already pay a sales tax for purchase. If you get average/low MPG, you will pay your fair share for the gas tax. To add another type of tax, is pure BS! What a jerk. Does he think everyone will drive a Prius? Does he know some people need trucks for commercial Business?

This is the kind of stuff that starts a neverending downward economic cycle in a state or locality. Punish people who make money and can afford nice things by picking deeper into their pocket. Some of them get tired of it and move. Tax base gets smaller, burden gets bigger for those who are left, more people leave. Next thing you know you have an impoverished tax base where there's not enough money going into the system to pay for what the state needs and you have to widen deficits and put more money on the table just to bring back the taxpayers you need.
