Default Out with the old, in with the new...

Well, lost the old tundra unexpectedly when I got rear ended hard and pushed into the person in front of me. Good bye faithful '01. Anyone on rt 2 east near Leominster, MA about a month ago get to enjoy the traffic?

Crappy cell pics in the rain:

Last a pic I got a pic of the car that hit me at the tow yard when I went to empty my truck.

Got raped by insurance and just found an affordable '04 DC that seems to be in good condition, picking it up tomorrow night hopefully. Insurance paid off the remaining loan on my '01 and tossed me lunch money, sucks to have to buy a truck when you had absolutely no plans to do so any time in the next 10 years and therefore, no real money to put aside to use a downpayment. Fortunately, all the styling cues are just a little different on the '04 DC so at least it feels like an exciting new truck.

That's no joke, I have been planning to pay off my tundra and buy a car to commute in, but I am having second thoughts about that. Although really, I don't even think that person hit the brakes at all...

I was hoping for a black one, but green is my second choice and this truck is clean so I went for it.

Anyone wanna trade some tan rubber floor mats for some grey ones?

Did you strip anything off the old truck. Grabbing the JBA's would have been nice.

Wow!! Sorry to hear about your truck, but happy you're okay. The
whole thing about the insurance really blows. I've always said that
if you take good care of your vehicle, even if it's ten years old, you'll
definitely get screwed if it's totalled. I plan on keeping my 2002
as long as possible. That could be over twenty years for all I know.
If mine got totalled tomorrow I'd have to buy a new/used one
like you did. Either way, that's a payment that I didn't intend to
have for a long time.

Thankfully you were in the Tundra. Looks like a 3 way in the pic .that truck behind the car involved also?

Insurance deal is a PITA. Nice to see you are back in another Tundra though. Good Luck with
the "new ride".

This actually came in the midst of a streak of bad luck for me. I blew my back out about 6 weeks before and was 8 hours from an mri and 5 days from surgery when the accident happened. So I lost my truck and couldn't get more off of it than I could instruct my wife to get, so I was able to get my stuff from inside and get the stereo and brake controller, but the JBA's were no way going to be possible. Believe me, I am very upset about that. I reported them to insurance as part of the value, they reimbursed me $60 for em. Sadly, I could hardly sit upright with the pain I was in, even the percocet didn't do the job fully, nevermind attempt to get the headers off, I am gonna be really angry about it if/when they crack on the '04.

One good thing about my back being out, I had just bought air bags for the rear but couldn't install them, I am very happy about that because the rear axle and both springs got bent, so the bags would have been done. Now I can put them on my new tundra.

Thanks, yeah I am glad I wasn't in the taurus, thats for sure, haha. It was 4 cars total, the taurus hit me and pushed me into the guy in front of me, and then the dodge ram hit the taurus. The reason for the gap between the dodge and taurus in that pic is that the taurus was actually on fire and the first police to show up, told the guy in the first truck to pull his truck away, unfortunately for him, his trailer hitch was jammed into my bumper and radiator and he actually dragged the two vehicles 20' up the highway before giving up.

Pm sent Jimc.

After reading a few threads, I peaked underneath and was pleasantly surprised to find that I have the LSD rear end.

Has anyone heard of any trouble with the auto-dimming mirror not working? The green light on the mirror comes on occasionally, but other times it doesn't and the mirror doesn't dim.
