I previously owned a '98 ext cab Tacoma. Since the seats in the back are pretty much useless, I opted to throw two 12" subs in the there. They sounded nice. I just bought an '01 Tundra Access Cab, now that I actually have valid seating space in the back, I don't want to fill it with a large box. This would of course be the place where your average noob would ask about stealth options. Being a slightly better than average noob, I have already checked out those options. I like the Q logic dual 8" box the best, in theory, however, the JL stealthbox is nice also. Both seem to be the perfect answer to the problem. Unfortunately, I am coming from two 12" subs that sat within 10" of my back. I understand that whichever option I go with will not be as loud, my concern is, how much of a difference will there be.
The two 12's were cheap, they were both Pioneer IMPP's, 450W max/150w nominal, I ran them on an amp that was 150W nom/channel. I had two separate home made sealed boxes for them.
I figure that I can get a 10" or 2-8" subs that are rated to a much higher power, and throw them on a better amp and that will allow me to get closer to what I used to have. Anyone have any input at this point?
Now for the real question, is there anyone in New England (preferably close-ish to north central MA) that has either the JL stealthbox or the q logic box? If so, it is worth a couple beers at a place of your choosing if I could come by and check it out and see what I am looking at/listening to. I wouldn't be overly concerned except that both are pretty expensive and I would hate to get the whole thing in and discover that I am severely disappointed.
Anyone out there?

BUMP. NOONE in NE has either setup? What is everyone running?
I don't have any pics yet, but I took out the rear seat center console and built a custom box to fit in there. Managed to barely squeeze in a 10" sub and actually sounds pretty good!

Just outof curiosity, what are you getting for gas mileage on those 265/75's?
I'll snap some tonight. No idea on the gas mileage....I want to say somewhere around 16. I should probably measure it....but the thought makes me cringe

Here are some pics I just took. I never could find the matching interior cloth, I could only find the newer model stuff. Although I didn't think it looked too bad, at least the colors matched. The last pic is the amp switch I installed (on the left). Let me know if you need some help. It wasn't an easy task....especially not having a nail gun! The woofer I had just barely fit in there too. Overall, I really liked the sound.

Nice work man, looks awesome. Is the volume of the box actually the proper volume for the sub?
Did you use roofing nails on that?
No I think the volume was around 0.5 cu.ft. the subwoofer minimum was about 0.6 cu.ft I think. Those are drywall screws btw! Pre-drilled every one of those suckers.
I am also sure that an 8 work be a lot better in that situation, but I had the 10 and made it work.
